Julia’s academic journey began with a degree in Psychology in Brazil, and to further enrich her expertise, she pursued a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Western Sydney University. This immersive experience equipped her with the necessary tools to practice as a trauma-informed therapist, offering a safe and validating space to explore client's stories and mind-body experiences.

 

She is an ACA registered Psychotherapist/Counsellor and a specialist in Schema Therapy, an approach that focus on recognising themes and patterns made of emotions, behaviours, thoughts, memories and sensations. This method aims to understand their impact on individuals' relationships with others and their perception of the world.

 

As a therapist, her approach centres around authenticity and empathy. She believes that a good therapeutic relationship is the key to create a safe space for change.

 

Julia speaks Portuguese in addition to English.
